Posted Tuesday, October 26th, 2010 at 1:05 am by Neighborbee in Media Buzz. More in 10282

What: One Night Only – Plug your iPod into Light Organ Sculpture at World Financial Center Plaza

When: Tuesday, October 26th

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Where: Lower Plaza at the World Financial Center (enter at 220 Vesey Street)

Cost: Free

Description: Since the spring, Arts World Financial Center has been host to artist Erik Guzman’s Weather Beacon, a high-tech kinetic sculpture that receives and decodes data from the Internet, transforming into an array of flashing lights and forecasting the weather for a curious public.

Next week, Weather Beacon will transform into a light organ that New Yorkers can play and illuminate by plugging their iPods into Guzman’s self-proclaimed “oracle for the Digital Age.” The two-hour event will kick off with song lists from New Yorkers such as musical director Kathleen Marshall (Grease) and actor Joel De La Fuente (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).
