New York City Happenings – Bee Social: ArdenStreet Call for Photo Project Volunteers

Posted Monday, October 6th, 2008 at 2:33 pm by Neighborbee in Cultural Bees. More in 10013

Connie, a new friend and visitor to New York from Toronto, is doing a photo project in NYC. Why not reach out to her and show her what you love about New York? Your neighborhood? Your favorite spots to be? (Details below.) You can check out some of her fabulous photography over on her Flickr site. (She’s got a great, up-close shot of Michael Cera. And this lovely photo of Catherine Keener.) She is super friendly and a seasoned traveler.

Still need volunteer subjects for my “people in their favourite places” photo project! If you know of anyone who loves the camera or would like to represent a place that they love, currently in NYC, pass them my way. 15-30 min commitment. Details below:

I love cities, period. But I’m really interested in how people and cities connect and what gets them engaged in their place.

Volunteer subjects will choose their favourite spots in the city, in any borough, hold a small heart in their hand, and pose. Sounds cheesy, but it’s looking good so far. Some examples have included a laundromat, a BBQ joint, a subway station, a neighbourhood, work studio, Central Park, Promenade.

This will be a work in progress. Pictures and your quotes may appear collectively on a website and in a self-published editorial photo book project.

October 6 – October 14.
Check the calendar below, let me know when you’re available for 1/2 an hour and keep me busy!

I’m Connie. Traveller who thrives in cities. Loves telling stories. Loves meeting new people. Never leaves home without a camera. This just makes sense.
